PTL Public Transport Lane System

The PTL unit is designed to provide an All-In-One solution for Public Transport (Bus) Lane enforcement (PTL). This all-inclusive device automates ticket issuing to violators from image capture to processed violation media.

The PTL system includes two cameras - an IR-illuminated black/white ANPR imager and a megapixel color camera. Both cameras capture an encrypted (optional) enforcement image with time-stamp. The PTL system also has a dedicated on-board processor and an optical media writer.

INEX/ZAMIR’s PTL system assures validity in court as it processes the violation data within a single housing. The law enforcement agent easily removes optical media for back office processing and automatic issuing of tickets to violators.

Bus Lanes and Public Transport Lanes are becoming increasingly common in municipalities as a means of prioritizing public transport and emergency vehicles and preventing private traffic from causing queues in these lanes.

The PTL system provides for a database of all vehicles authorized to use the public transport lane, with optional time limitations. The very presence of a unit in the lane affects driver behavior and deters unauthorized use of the lane.

The imager automatically alters image capture settings providing excellent results in all weather conditions, daytime, nighttime, in direct sunlight and oncoming headlights - conditions which cause conventional imaging solutions to fail. The IR illumination is pulsed in synchronization with the multi-shuttered ANPR imager, thereby guaranteeing both a longer effective operating distance and a greatly extended life cycle.

The PTL includes an on-board data processing unit (DPU) preloaded with InSignia™ software and comes out-of-the-box ready to provide automatic number plate recognition.
