Surveillance - Homeland Security - Safe City Over-and-above routine police use of ALPR technology, INEX/ZAMIR has experienced a growth in the interest of ALPR/ALPR technology for surveillance purposes. The number of actual deployments of systems which monitor the entry and exit points of a community has grown dramatically. These installations are used to keep the local authorities alerted to vehicles whose license/registration plate may be on a list of wanted or suspect vehicles. Such information has proven quite valuable in providing the earliest possible indication of a potential problem whether it involve threats to national security or crimes against persons and property. The information also aids in the apprehension of stolen vehicles. In addition to systems designed to protect cities, INEX/ZAMIR has developed systems to monitor traffic on roads near sensitive government facilities. In such cases the system can both look up vehicles of interest as well as take note when the same vehicle makes frequent passes within a pre-determined period of time. In all cases, images of the vehicle, along with the plate number and subsequent reads, can be forwarded via email or SMS message as an alert to a number of parties. Over the past several years INEX/ZAMIR has deployed such systems in several countries around the world, facing the challenge of a variety of climates and of license plates with very good results. INEX/ZAMIR is able to tailor its products to meet varying project requirements:
